The CubeX disruptor is DTC’s omni-directional expanding jet high explosive charge. Loaded with Composition C-4, the CubeX is ideal for disrupting soft packages.
The cuboid geometry, thus the name “CubeX,” is a big enhancement for omni-directional high explosive charges. First, the water jet density doesn’t drop with the square of the distance as what happens with other omni-directional tools. Dual-Cubing by abutting two CubeX disruptors, results in an ENTIRE plane of contact between the adjacent disruptors. A wide linear jet is formed that will cut through thin metal targets. Another important performance metric is a higher impulse on a target due to the greater amount of surface interaction of the jet with the skin of the bomb. Having flat sides, a CubeX can be laid horizontally and will not roll. Stacking disruptors horizontally is easy. More than two CubeX can be fired in tandem.
