IED ELECTRONICS FOR INVESTIGATORS AND ANALYSTS

This course provides bomb and arson investigators and intelligence analysts with the principles of IEDs and improvised incendiary device fusing/firing systems.

Learn about IED and improvised incendiary device fusing/firing systems. This is an immersive course and students will find it intellectually challenging. The course teaches hazardous device electronics theory. In addition, advanced designs that contain integrated circuits and incorporate commercial off-the-shelf devices will be taught. Attendees will distinguish the differences in the types of electro-explosive devices and igniters. They will read circuit diagrams and use protoboards. There will be demonstrations and hands-on experience building basic, intermediate, and advanced circuits. Your investigators and analysts will solder complete fusing and firings systems to study their function. Participants will recognize the differences between victim operated, command, and timing circuits. This course can be tailored for beginner to advanced.
